William D. "Bill" Brown, Jr., 85, husband of the late Nancy Wells Brown, passed away January 4, 2023 at his home.  Born November 10, 1937 in Versailles, KY, Bill was the son of the late William D. Brown, Sr. and Beulah Simpson Hutchins.

Bill served his country in the U.S. Army and was a long-time contractor and owner of Affordable Septic Systems.  A member of Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church and the Hims of Harmony, he formerly served as a deacon at Alton Baptist Church.  He and his late wife Nancy were founding members of the Lawrenceburg Burgoo Festival and co-operated Rook Tournaments for 35 years which still continue in Lawrenceburg.  He was known for running one of the largest 127 Yard Sales over the past 27 years and he loved attending auctions.

Survivors include his children, D. Scott Brown (wife Mitzi), Mark Brown (wife Rhonda), and Stacey Brown, all of Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren, Jason Brown, Brandon (Mandy) Brown, Whitney (John) White, Evan (Alexa) Brown, Ryan (Natsha) Ewalt, Spencer (Emmie) Brown, and Brooke (Austin) West; and 14 great grandchildren.  Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Brown.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Sand Spring Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Ehr and Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM Tuesday and after 9 AM Wednesday at Sand Spring Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason, Brandon, Evan, and Spencer Brown, Ryan Ewalt, Austin West, John White, and Mason West.  Honorary bearers will be members of the First Baptist Church Hims of Harmony.
