Obituary

Beverly Stone Hanks Sparrow, 66, wife of Allen C. Sparrow, passed away October 3, 2026 at Kindred – Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born in Frankfort, KY on November 19, 1959, Beverly was the daughter of the late Edwin Boswell Hanks, Sr. and Frances Stone Hanks.

Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Stratton Sparrow, and a brother, Edwin Boswell “Eddie” Hanks, Jr.

A former customer service representative for the television cable company in Lawrenceburg for 35 years, Beverly also worked for the Anderson County Board of Education as a school bus driver for many years. She was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church. Beverly enjoyed being a homebody and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Including Allen, her husband of 51 years, she is survived by her two sons, Jason Clark Sparrow (his wife Sharon Watkins Sparrow) and Chad Allen Sparrow (his wife Lori); three granddaughters, Mollie (Jacob) McCoun, Zoie Sparrow, and Ashley Spears-Sparrow; a great grandson, Westyn McCoun; a sister, Anita (Frank) Batten; a brother, Danny (Janet) Hanks; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY. Dr. Mike Hamrick will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Tuesday, Oct. 6th and after 10 AM Wednesday, all at Sand Spring Baptist Church.
