Betty Jean Taylor Elmore, 75, wife of Gary L. Elmore, passed away on April 4, 2026, at her home in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Born June 28, 1950, in McCreary County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Taylor and Julie Gibson Taylor.

Betty was a graduate of McCreary County High School and retired as a dispatcher for the Bluefield, Virginia Police Department. She loved the Lord, cherished her family, and enjoyed playing computer games. She also loved her dogs, especially her beloved Shasta, and had a passion for singing.

In addition to her husband, Gary, Betty is survived by her children, Jason Davis of Virginia, Debbie (Ryan) Hancock of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Michelle (Oakley) Vaughn of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Dawn (Chip) Ryder of Scottsville, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Debbie (Scottie) Waldridge of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, William Taylor, and two sisters, Carol Akins and Faye Hicks.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, with Scott Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Fultz, John Boyatt, Jonathon Boyatt, Foster Elliott, Derek Waldridge, and Brayden Foley. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Hancock, Oakley Vaughn, and Chip Ryder.
