Benjamin Burton Boggs, 70, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of 49 years of the late Vickey Sue Allen Boggs, who went to her Heavenly home of January 14, 2016.

Mr. Boggs was born April 23, 1945 in Harlan, Kentucky, the son of the late John Wesley and Rebecca Baker Boggs. For over 45 years he worked as a contractor and owned Boggs' Construction. He and his family are members of the Old Country Church in Mt. Eden. In previous churches they attended, he served as Sunday school superintendant, taught Sunday school, and as church treasurer. He and Vickey served as Foster parents to several children over the years.

Survivors include two children, Benjamin "Benny" Boggs III and his wife Melanie, and Andrea Boggs, all of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Benjamin Boggs III and Lauren Brittany Boggs; a great grandchild, Kinsley Roberts; four sisters, Muriel Hoskins, Dorothy Weaver, Marjorie Stratton, and Brenda (Danny) Branch; two brothers, Millard Boggs and Randy (Debbie) Boggs; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Boggs, Jr. and Franklin Boggs; and two sisters, Ruth Taylor and Betty Carl.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, Feb. 25th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Pastors Herbie Hoskins, Randy Boggs, and Tim Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in the Best Cemetery in Anderson County. Visitation will be 3 – 8 PM Wednesday. .
