Ben Earl Byrd, 71, of Lawrenceburg, husband of Sharol Ellison Byrd, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Friday, May 28, 2021.  Born May 20, 1950 in Livingston, KY, Ben was the son of the late Ralph Byrd and Laura Bell Gibbons Byrd.

Ben retired as a mechanic with Fulton Processors in Fulton, CA.  A member of the Golden Pathway Fellowship Church in Lawrenceburg, Ben enjoyed farming, raising gardens, muscle cars, and was very talented in working with metal and making parts for numerous items.  He enjoyed people and was very personable.

Including Sharol his wife of 46 years, Ben is survived by a sister, Margaret Gay and a brother Chester Byrd, both of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia Lee Lear, Nancy Maddox, Ida Matherly, Jennie Gregory, Peggy Byrd, Orville P. Byrd, Donald Ray Byrd, Lawrence William Byrd, Ralph Dean Byrd, and Robert Keith Byrd.

Visitation will be 10 – 12 noon Tuesday, June 1 ^st followed by the service beginning at 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Pastor Sharol Byrd and Pastor Margaret Gay will officiate the service.  A private burial will be at the Wynn Cemetery in Livingston, KY.
