Barbara Ann Gastineau McGaughey, age 80, wife of Leslie Joe McGaughey, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020. Born December 20, 1939 in Lancaster, KY, Barbara was the daughter of the late Robert K. Gastineau and Mattie Frances Dean Gastineau.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Lickert.
A former employee of General Electric in Lexington, Barbara was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Challengers Sunday School Class. She enjoyed spending time in her gardening and working in her flowers and most importantly she loved being with her family.
Including her husband, Barbara is survived by two children, Randall K. Conley (Stacy) of Stamping Ground, Shannon Conley (Gina Howard) of Georgetown; son-in-law, Richard Lickert; step children, Kim Buntain (Bertram), Gloria Dennis (Johnny), Craig McGaughey (Tammy), and Joseph McGaughey (Emali); grandchildren, Grant and Ashley Gieringer, Wes, Colby, Bailey, and Taylor Conley; step grandchildren, Nathaniel Dennis (Lynn), Jacqueline Levi (Craig), Josh McGaughey (Amy), Lakesha Vannatter (Mark), Jimmy Fisher III, Charles Fisher, Annabella McGaughey, Nikalous McGaughey, Mikki Thomas, Marti McDonald, Joey Phipps, Kasey Kenkel, Amber Martin, and Jared Howard; several great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; and her brother, Wayne Gastineau (Gloria) of Lancaster.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm Sunday and after 10 am Monday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 27 th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Barbara's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials are suggested to Sand Spring Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 166, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
To abide by the regulations set forth by the State of Kentucky all persons attending a visitation or funeral (public or private) will be required to wear a face coverings and practice social distancing. Fifty (50%) occupancy of the funeral home will be in practice. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
