Funeral Service Broadcast for Barbara Calvert

Barbara Lucille King Calvert, wife of Stewart McBrayer (Mac) Calvert, died on December 1, 2025. She was born on February 15, 1932 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Thomas Edwin and Elizabeth Crutchfield King. She graduated from Harrodsburg High School and the University of Kentucky. She taught Latin and English at Lafayette Junior High; Tip City High School, Tip City, Ohio; Carrollton High School, and Sadieville eighth grade, before becoming a full time mother.

She is survived by three children: Tony Calvert (Debbie) of Lexington; Jeffrey Calvert (Jan) of Lexington; and Jenny Calvert-Smith of Burlington, Kentucky and by her daughter-in-law, Sheila Calvert. She was preceded in death by her eldest son Stewart McBrayer Calvert, Jr., and by her son-in-law, Edward "Eddie" Smith.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Katie Calvert Reisner (Tyler), Landon Calvert, Sommer Calvert Cummins (Wesley), Emmalee Calvert, Matthew Calvert, Megan Calvert, Andrew Calvert, Jadon Calvert (Emily), Noah Calvert, Kaela Calvert, Hagen Smith Driehaus (Don), and Elliot Smith; and by six great grandchildren: Chelsea Marie Reisner, Hayden Mackenzie Reisner, Brady Julian Calvert, Ellie Quinn Calvert, Madilynn McBrayer Cummins, and Graham Edward Driehaus.

She is also survived by five cousins: Jimmy Crutchfield, of Nicholasville; Peggy Adkinson (Ron), of Florida; Libby Wilson (Don), of Danville; Jerry Wheeler (Peggy), of Alabama; and Mary Ann Philips Hisle, of Michigan.

She was a member of the Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church. Barbara loved the Lord with all of her heart and was an example to her family of living a godly life. She was a faithful wife, adored all of her children, and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They love her with all of their hearts. She will be greatly missed but we have comfort knowing that she is with Jesus.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, with her son, Tony Calvert, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, December 5, from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
