Barbara "Barbie" Ellen Sharp, 56, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026, at Signature Health of Spencer County. She was born in Shelbyville, KY to the late LT Sharp and Mary Grace Gillspie Sharp.

Barbie was a follower of God. During her life she faced many hardships but retained her kind soul. She loved reading and writing. Watching T.V. was also one of her favorite pastimes; especially watching Golden Girls or anything with Johnny Depp. Barbie knitted often, making baby hats that she would donate to hospitals. She bled blue and never missed a UK Basketball game. Signature Health of Spencer County was a home to Barbie, and the nurses there were like a second family to her. She loved them dearly.

Barbie is survived by her siblings; Mary Ann Woods (Mike), Richard Sharp, Carolyn Ruble (John), Jaqueline Sharp, and Robin Monroe; a special niece, Cynthia Ruble Hillyer (Kaleb); and several other nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

The family has chosen private services.
