Barbara Ruth Landers Baker, 82, of Lawrenceburg, KY, passed away on May 27, 2026. Born April 15, 1944, in Newport, TN, she was the daughter of the late Denver Monroe Landers and Minnie Norton Landers.

Barbara was described by her family as a strong independent woman. She was an intellectual person, who enjoyed reading, and was always self-studying different topics that interested her. She graduated from Kentucky State University with a Bachelor of Accounting. She used this degree, working at Osram Sylvania, as a Raw Materials Analyst. Through this job she oversaw many people over the years as a team lead. Her coworkers respected her and enjoyed working with her. She enjoyed casinos and horse racing, but most of all she was an avid animal advocate. Barbara rescued and loved so many animals over the years, you couldn't count them. More than anything else, Barbara was a loving friend to those who had the privilege of knowing her, and a devoted mother and Mom-Mom. Being a Mom-Mom to her grandsons and great-grandchildren were the moments that brought her the most joy.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Stacey Newton (Mark), of Lawrenceburg; two grandsons, Matthew Newton (Brittany) and Michael Newton (Tamara), both of Lawrenceburg; three great grandchildren, Parker Newton, Carson Newton, and Tatum "Tate" Newton; a special friend, Carroll Wayne of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Harold Landers (Bonnie) of Somerset; two nephews, Richard Landers and Chris Landers; and a niece, Laura Segrest.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Wayne Oscar Baker; two brothers, Harrison "Alfred" Landers and Maurice "Hoss" Landers; and a nephew, Damon Landers.

Cremation was chosen, and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service on Friday, June 5, 2026.
