Joseph "Arnett" Stratton, 90, of Lawrenceburg, KY, passed from this earthly existence Sunday, March 31, 2024, under the Veterans Administration Hospice Care Unit in Lexington.

Born July 14, 1933, in Mercer County, Kentucky, to the late Willie Preston Stratton and Eva Currens Stratton. He was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church where he sang many beloved solos.  Arnett served in the U.S. Army, owned a remodeling and roofing company, but was best known for his beautiful singing voice. He began singing at an early age, eventually recording a single in Nashville which became number 27 on the country charts in the mid 1970's. Arnett also owned and operated the Kentucky Jamboree in Georgetown, KY.

Mr. Stratton is survived by five children, son Craig (Ginger) Stratton of Greenville, SC; daughters Vicki (Steve) Melton of Tacoma, WA; Chelan (Brent) Stratton of Lawrenceburg; Tashia (Dennis) Cyporyn of Highland, MI; Lorri Peterman of Carlisle. Surviving grandchildren include Laura (Jason) Roney, Austin, TX; Faith (Paul) Jackson, Tacoma, WA; Anna (Justin) Packer, Tacoma, WA; Bonney (David) Melton-Parker, Tacoma, WA; Jessica (Michael) Wilkerson, Pleasureville, KY; Jonathon (Bryley) Johnson, Lagrange, KY; Conner Johnson, Jerricho, KY; Isabella Peterman, Carlisle; Anabel Peterman, Carlisle; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Surviving siblings include Kathalene Bowen, Lawrenceburg; Lyle (Elizabeth) Stratton, Bowling Green; Lavenia Wayne, Harrodsburg; Jeanette (Bill) Sullivan, Between, GA, sister-in-law, Beverly Stratton, Mercer County; Debbie Stratton, Powder Springs, GA.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Gail Stratton, siblings, Mae Redmon, Gertie Hill, Francis Ellis, Rebecca Clem, William Kenneth Stratton, Bobby Stratton and Sherman Stratton;  sons-in-law,  Lyndon Johnson and Sean Peterman.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Sand Spring Baptist Church, with the funeral to follow at 7:00 PM with Bro. Bryan Proctor officiating. Burial service with military honors will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County, Friday, April 5, 2024, 10:00 AM.

Casket bearers will be Ted Hill, Wayne Bowen, Randy Orwig, Jeff Wayne, Chris Sullivan, Ken Stratton and Will Stratton. Honorary bearers will be Conner Johnson, Johnathon Johnson, Brent Stratton, Scott Brown, Brent Hawkins, Gary Chilton and Edward Packer.
