Anna Belle Bixler Thurman Woodley Mendoza, 79, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at her residence. Born June 30, 1936 in Lawrenceburg, she was the daughter of the late Wallace B. "PeeWee" Bixler, Sr. and Alice Nancy Ann Penny Bixler.

Along with her parents, Belle was predeceased by her husbands, Thomas Jackie Thurman and Frank Woodley; a son, James Gillis "BIX" Burrus Bixler; a grandson, James Dixon; a sister, Alice Pearl Bixler; and two brothers, Wallace "Turkey" Bixler and Robert Leslie Bixler.

Belle was a retired employee of Rand McNally in Versailles and a member of the former A.M.E. Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, dancing, and entertaining.

Belle's survivors include a brother, William Earl Bixler and his wife Jinnie Mae; and two sisters, Linda L. Bixler and Nancy L. Russell, all of Lawrenceburg; 7 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; two aunts, Mayme Penny and Lucille Bixler Bush Nance; a special niece Donna Haliburton and a host of other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home led by Rev. John K. Cunningham. Burial will follow in the Steele Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Corey Doak, Wallace "Tiny" Bixler, Robert "Bubba Lee" Hill, Paul Coffey, Gene Sears, and Ben Andrade. Honorary bearers will be Alonzo Gaines, Darlene Coffey, Regina "GiGi" Newman, Phyllis Pittman, and Bonrhonda Hill.
