Alveretta (Alvie) Loy Rowan Pille went home to be with our Lord on Oct/ 30, 2014 in Frankfort, KY after a short illness. She was born in Horse Shoe Bottom, Russell County, KY on Oct. 19, 1916 to her parents, Mervin Loy and Effie Mae Bertram Loy.

In addition to her parents, Alvie was preceded in death by her first husband Burton Clyde Rowan, second husband Frank J Pille, three brothers John Loy, James Loy, William Loy, as well as two sisters, Pauline Loy and Emma Loy Kregor.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Rowan Jones (Earl) of Bonita Springs, FL and Sandra K Rowan Works (Robert) of Lawrenceburg, KY, six grandchildren, Cynthia Jones Nagel (Ron), Elizabeth Jones Weinstein (Jonathan), Bradley A Jones, Lisa Works Thudium (Paul), Steven T. Works (Amanda), and Curtis M. Works (Paula). Alvie was blessed as well to have twelve great grandchildren. In addition to the families of her daughters, she is survived by two sisters, Eva Loy Means of New Castle, IN and Elsie Loy Curtis of Apopka, FL.

Alvie lived a long and productive life of 98 years in which she resided both in Bloomington, IL and Bonita Springs, FL before returning back to Kentucky. Apart from her family, her greatest interest was making quilts with the Lord's Quilters at the First United Methodist Church of Bonita Springs.

Honorary bearers will be members of the Dorcas-Homemakers Sunday School Class of Sand Springs Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky where Alvie was a faithful member over the past 13 years.

Services will be 7 PM Monday, Nov. 3rd at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM on Monday. Burial will be in Naples Memorial Gardens in Naples, FL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sand Spring Baptist Church Building Fund.
