Alma Darnell Funeral Service Broadcast

Alma Gene Moore Darnell, 80, wife of Danny Darnell, passed away December 3, 2023 at her home in Nelson County, KY.  Born in Anderson County on January 24, 1943, Alma was the daughter of Clyde T. Moore and Christine Barnes Moore.

Alma and her husband, Danny, ran a dairy farm, raised tobacco, and operated the Darnell's Market in Western Anderson County.  They were the recipients of the Master Conservation Award in Anderson County.  She was a lifelong member of New Liberty Christian Church where she played the piano for over 69 years.  Alma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Including Danny, her husband of 63 years, she is survived by two daughters, Christy Burke (husband Wayne) of Lawrenceburg and Danette Warford (husband Kevin) of Henryville, IN; three grandchildren, Daniel (Brittany) Burke, Paul (Candise) Burke, and Brittany (Corey) Cooley; five great grandchildren, Tobais, Randal, Bella, Carson, and Knox; and a sister, Glenda (John) Craycraft of Lexington.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 8, 2023 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Bro. Jerry Perry will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Cline, Darrell Abell, Paul Burke, Daniel Burke, Wayne Burke, and Corey Cooley.  Honorary bearers will be Kenny Stanton, Kevin Warford, Brittany Cooley, Terry Clark, and the great grandchildren Tobais, Randal, Bella, Carson, and Knox.
