Alberta Earleen Wash Peyton, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. Born on April 27, 1944, in Anderson County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Wilson Wash and Helen Rachel Thompson Wash.

Alberta retired as a hearing officer for the Kentucky Division of Water in the Kentucky Energy & Environmental Cabinet after many years of dedicated service. She was a graduate of Anderson County High School and a member of Ninevah Christian Church. Following her retirement, Alberta worked with the Anderson County Soil Conservation. An expert gardener with a deep love for animals, she rescued countless dogs and cats throughout her life and was a passionate supporter of the Anderson County Animal Control and the Anderson Humane Society. Alberta also enjoyed lively political debates.

In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her siblings, Eugene Stewart Wash, Wilson "Nappy" Wash Jr., Reba Rodgers, Mary Lillian Shryock, George Washington Wash, Judy Bell Bickers, and James Hamilton Wash.

Alberta is survived by Wesley Floyd Peyton; her daughter, Deborah Peyton Taylor, son-in-law, David Brent Taylor, their children, Jackson Peyton Taylor and Tess Hamilton Taylor; her son, Wesley Eugene Peyton, Angie Rhodes, their children, Morgan and Mckenzie Rhodes, and their grandson, Liam Brock Tucker; her daughter, Sunny Peyton Hardin, Mike Hardin, their children Emerson McKenzie Hardin and Bridges Wesley Hardin; and her son, Hollie Peyton, and his son Hollie Carlisle Peyton. Alberta also has and loved all her nieces, nephews, and special great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Alberta's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday starting at 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garry Wash, Wesley E. Peyton, Hollie Peyton, David Taylor, Mike Hardin, Jackson Taylor, Bridges Hardin, and Hollie Carlisle Peyton. Honorary bearers will be Tess Taylor, Morgan Rhodes, Mckenzie Rhodes, Liam Brock Tucker, Emerson Hardin, and Nicholas Perry.
