Absalum Watkins "Abbie" Wash, Jr., age 93, of Lawrenceburg passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at Hometown Manor in Lawrenceburg. Husband of the late Ellen Jordan Wash, he was born Sept. 14, 1921 in Anderson County to the late Mildred Frances Hahn and Absalum Watkins Wash, Sr.

Mr. Wash served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and later owned Wash's Clothing Store in downtown Lawrenceburg. A member of the First Christian Church he was an avid golfer, loved University of Kentucky basketball, and enjoyed attending the Anderson County Senior Citizens.

He is survived by a sister, Jessie Mae Gatewood of Frankfort and several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Gregory and Margaret Woods, and two brothers, Earl and Lewis Wash.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, Nov. 17th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rev. James Wheeler officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 am – 2 pm Monday.
